Welcome!
Jersey Devil Doggie Daycare was the first doggie daycare in the area to offer
a totally cage free environment...that was over 11 years ago!! Our k-9 kids are
outside in the fresh air and sunshine, supervised, playing in a large securely fenced
play yard filled with sand (sand is groomed and sanitized weekly) tunnels, tires,
jolly balls and Frisbees - kiddie pools and sprinklers in the warm weather months
and plenty of doggie activities to keep your k-9 child busy all day long. We also have
a heated/air conditioned building for those inclement weather days with Kuranda beds
for the kids to nap on while they watch their favorite TV show. Jersey Devil Doggie Daycare
is a fun, safe, clean, loving environment for your k-9 child. Our daycare can provide a
stimulating environment and the opportunity for your k-9 child to play and socialize with
other k-9 children. If your k-9 child suffers from boredom or loneliness while you are at work
please consider the possibility of doggie daycare as a treat for your k-9 child's work day blues!!!
About
My name is Traci Johnson and I started Jersey Devil Doggie Daycare in 1998
and have been at my current location over 11 years. I started my doggie
daycare
with my own k9 kids in mind. Going to work every day to train other
peoples k9 kids
was a dream come true except for one thing...my own k9 kids were left at
home most
of the day. So I decided to have my clients drop off their k9 kids at my
place for the
day so we could work on general manners and obedience and all the kids
could play together
and learn and none of the k9 kids had to be alone during the
day...including my own kids!!!! The
feedback from parents was so positive I decided to offer this service on a
full time basis. My
daycare is not like most...I keep the number of kids that come to my
daycare low...I offer a small,
and very personal doggie daycare. I run a very active daycare...that
doesn't mean every child that
comes here has to be extremely active...it just means that those who are or
want to do activities can. We
fetch Frisbee's and chase balls and catch bubbles and even trot after the
quad. For the kids who like
to just socialize and "hang"...there is plenty of sand for them to dig
in...a nice patio to catch some rays
and plenty of shade to get cool. I also offer a 1,200 sq ft pole barn that
is heated and air conditioned and has a big screen TV and plenty of
"Kuranda" beds for the kids to nap on.
During the warm weather months we have several kiddie pools and sprinklers
and an above
ground pool for the kids to get cool or have a swim lesson (new for 2012 a
in-ground pool)
for the kids who don't like water...they may cool down in the shade under
the trees or head
into The Dawg House to the air conditioning!!!!
However, my daycare is not for every child...I conduct interviews on
Saturday and Sundays
to see if my daycare environment is a good "fit" for your k9 child. Some
kids can't handle being
in a high energy environment...all the excitement may cause them to act out
towards another k9 child...this does not mean your child is "bad"...it just
means that this daycare environment may not be a good match for your k9
child and maybe a less active daycare will suit them better. Some children
do not like to "share" toys...that behavior may lead to a scuffle between
children...again - not a "bad" kid - maybe a daycare with less toys would
be a better "fit" for your k9 child. I have some ridiculous rules I have
been told...as ridiculous as they may seem to you...they are ALL in place
for a reason. Rules and requirements work in my daycare program and as you
know...life is full of them and you must obey them in every day life or
there are consequences!! I do everything in my power to make my daycare as
fun and safe as I possibly can for the kids... I enjoy every minute with
the kids that come to my daycare!!!! It is an honor and privilege for me
to spend my days with them...they make me laugh out loud every day!!!!!! I
have been in love with dogs ever since I can remember...I started training
and showing my own kids in obedience at the age of 15. Over the years I
have handled my own dogs in the conformation ring and obedience ring and
have put numerous titles on them. Today I continue to show my own kids and
help several local rescue organizations foster and rehabilitate kids so
that they may have the chance again of a life filled with love and respect
with families that cherish them!!!!!
